Roger began his career in the media, working as a newspaper and television journalist, press secretary and public relations manager. He later became a psychologist, founding Roger Fry & Co as a communication-based consultancy in 1980.

Roger has advised more than 10,000 people in communication skills. Clients have included cabinet ministers, chief justices and senior bureaucrats. In the private sector, he has coached executives from hundreds of organisations, including seven of the top ten companies in Australia.

Roger has studied experiential learning in Australia and overseas, and has developed a 'look at the camera' video technique which enhances skill and confidence.

Roger has pioneered developments such as the 2A+3M issues management model, the use of formatted ideographic speakers' cards, and the MBE watertight answer model. His program on using intuition as a management skill has given many a powerful way of solving problems and enhancing their creativity. His latest development is a method of sequencing questions for interviewers.

Richenda Rudman is a communication skills specialist who has worked on a number of occasions in the USA on the latest techniques in this area. In particular she has studied with Dr John Grinder, founder of NLP - one of the foremost technologies in the communication field; she became a certified master practitioner in NLP with John Grinder in 1988. Richenda is also qualified at a primary level in Rational Emotive Therapy (R.E.T.), and at an advanced level in the use of Virginia Satir's models in communication and change management.

Since 1987 Richenda has formulated and presented many of our programs, including a program that has proved of particular value to investigation and audit teams involved in sensitive areas, such as fraud enquiries.

Richenda's training courses benefit from her recent work in successfully marketing our courses, which involved writing submissions, presenting to groups and negotiating with people at all levels of the corporate sector.

Richenda combines training work with her speechwriting business, The Speech Creator, and has postgraduate qualifications in writing and speech at Latrobe University.

 

Bill Peterson, HR Training Consultant

Bill is a valued part time member of our team because of in-depth knowledge of the workplace. After some 25 years in various blue and white-collar positions in industry and government, Bill gained a degree in psychology at Melbourne University, and now works in human resource consultancy. His specialist areas include performance management, induction, benchmarking, competency mapping and organisational development.

Before becoming a consultant, Bill worked with the Victorian WorkCover Authority, the State Revenue Office, the Occupational Health and Safety Authority and SECV.

With the Roger Fry Group, Bill presents training programs in his specialist areas and also plays an essential role in out training and consultancy activities that involve the workplace at large. His practical experience adds an essential ingredient to our programs in presentation skills in the workplace, negotiation and meeting skills and in management communication skills courses.

Hilary is a Darwin-based freelance journalist and PR consultant who arranges our programs in the Northern Territory.

She began her career with the Sydney Morning Herald, and the Sun-Herald, then the Melbourne Sun, and then set up her own PR agency. Moving to Darwin in 1984, she worked as public relations manager for the Darwin City Council, then for six years as media liaison and PR officer for the Department of the Chief Minister, and media liaison officer for Emergency Services.

Hilary then spent five years as features editor of the Northern Territory News, and some time as public relations manager for the Northern Territory University. She now divides her time between freelance journalism, public relations work, and as the Northern Territory representative for Roger Fry & Company.
